UPDATE: Russian crt to hear Potanin’s ex-wife claim vs tycoon May 29

(Adds details in last two paragraphs)

MOSCOW, May 8 (PRIME) -- The Presnensky District Court of Moscow will on May 29 start hearings of a suit for the division of jointly acquired property filed by Natalya Potanina, ex-wife of Russian tycoon Vladimir Potanin, against her former husband, Potanina’s press service said in a statement Friday.

In the suit, Potanina demands half of her ex-husband’s 30.3% stake in metals giant Norilsk Nickel and 50% in his company Interros International Investments Limited, through which he controls the stake in Norilsk Nickel.

Interros also owns 88% in developer ProfEstate, 100% in the Roza Khutor resort, 90% in pharmaceutical producer Petrovax Pharm, 100% in cinema chain Cinema Park, 51% in managing transport company Interport and 50% in media holding Afisha-Rambler-SUP.

After receiving the stake in Norilsk Nickel, Potanina will transfer it to the Russian government, the press service said.

Under Russian legislation, all property, including property rights, acquired by partners during marriage is considered their joint property and must be split in half between a husband and a wife after divorce. Natalya and Vladimir were husband and wife between 1983 and February 2014, this is why all their wealth is joint and should be split, the service added.
